Unable to get past Authoring

Beitrag von kantoben » 18.12.2008, 02:01

I have downloaded the trial version of DVR-Studio Pro 2.15 but I am unable to author any of my files. I have a Humax PVR-9200T and I have downloaded the .ts files to my PC. When I try to copy them to DVD using DVR-Studio Pro, the process always stalls at the Authoring stage.

In the log I see this error a couple of times:

Error: 0x00000003
The system cannot find the path specified.

It is not clear which path is not specified though.

I can email the complete logfile if required.

This error message only appears when the software tries to copy DVD-Styles of old versions. It does not have any meaning and for sure is not causing the problem.

Do you start the software via the Windows start menu or through a shortcut you created yourself? The latter case I got reports about such a problem you described.

Appart from that please check if the software created the neccessary files in stage 1 (demultiplexing). You can find these files by opening the directory in "View > Settings" chose tag "Directories" and press the second button right of "DVD wizard > demultiplexing" Directory setting.

These files should be of about the size of the original file. Please try with a short recording (some minutes) and NO cut-areas - just to minimize any influences.

I start the software from the Windows Start menu.
I'm not sure which button you mean in the Directories tab. I do not have a "DVD wizard > demultiplexing" button.

My tab includes:
Output path for transfer files (empty)
Project Directory (contains menu files, images etc)
Screenshots (empty)
Temp files (image files)
DVD Processing::
- MPEG ES files (contains one mp2 file and one m2v file)
- VIDEO_TS files (contains .PGC file and .VOB files)
- Compressed files (empty)

Yes, that's what I meant, sorry for the confusion.

How large are the MPEG-ES files in total and how large the VOB files?

Title-0(0x02BE).mp2 = 174MB
Title-0.m2v = 2.3GB

There are 9 .VOB files. All are 0KB except the most recent one which is 252MB.

ok, the mp2 and m2v files look reasonable in size. The VOB don't. Could you please open the "Settings" window again and have a look at the log-files in the "Miscellaneous" tab? There is a button "Show Log files". Add all of them to a ZIP-file and email them to:
Kimi[at]haenlein-software.com (replace [at] with @).
