For everybody who wants to edit his recordings it would be a great feature if "convert to AVI (uncompressed)" was an option in the program.
Fot editing/burning I use Pinnacle Studio 10 because of the extensive features in editing and authoring.
DVR-Studio can demux/remux to MPG but a loss of quality is included.
After editing and authoring Pinnacle Studio has to render again with a second loss of quality.
Uncompressed AVI would be without any loss and editing is much more convenient.

@appie
Video would not get better by converting it to AVI. With AVI files Pinnacle Studio would have to render again which would result in exact the same quality loss. The problem is that Pinnacle Studio DOES renter instead pf using the created MPEG files unchanged.
This is not true. DVR-Studio does not change the content of the video. It does just demultiplex the datapackets without changing them.DVR-Studio can demux/remux to MPG but a loss of quality is included

@Kimi
Thank you for your explination.
In the mean time I've made some tests with demuxing to MPG ES.
Loading these files (video/audio) into Pinnacle Studio results in a OOS (out of sync).
The audio stream is shorter in time then the video stream!
Secondly I completed a couple of DVD's with DVR-Studio Pro including a menu.
Loading these DVD's in a standalone player or in the PC-player results in a STOP.
Adter pressing the PLAY-button again the movie is played without MENU.
I tried these DVD's in a Panasonic and JVC player: same results.

@Kimi,
Also in my PC-player (PowerDVD) the same result: no menu and the player stops after loading the DVD.
I tried several standalone players (also Daewoo, Philips).
In none of the players the menu is working properly !
All players stopped after loading the DVD.
After pressing the DVD-Menu button on several players the players freezed.
So far I think the menu-option in DVR-Studio Pro is not really useable.
I cannot test it furthermore, because my trialversion will expire tomorrow and a new trial can not be installed.
What to do?
This version is too buggy in menu-options for me to buy.

I'm using PowerDVD myself - no problems. Did you try a different DVD media brand? For sure if the menu option never works the forum would be full of complaints about this.
I can send you a 30 day licence key to continue testing. Just send me the serial number the software shows on startup by private forum message.
