Plus it's unlikely that when HD receiving and recording become more commonplace, that the destination format will be Standard DVD !!!

I'm afraid not - neither the Philips (DVD Recorders), Panasonic (Recorder or Player) or Vestech-based DVD players I've tried 544x576 discs on play properly, even with the Display Extension flags set. They all show the picture squashed and double-tiled.

I mentioned this in relation to another thread, about 544x576 video files, and that these are not recoded as DVR-SP doesn't do this as part of its job. However, have HS ever considered writing a separate program to do this? Like DVR-Compress, it would be an optional additional module to DVR-SP altho...
