Thanks Haenlein, ultimate .ts playback method !

Hello I want to express my satisfaction with the DVR Studio Pro.

I used it tonight to burn some misc .ts file clips to DVD.

I burnt to a DVD-RW, then inserted it in a Panasonic DVD-S97 player,
and it played perfectly over HDMI to a 42" Plasma screen ! I have never before seen low-fi TV material in such quality.
At last I found a real good use case for my S97; to render recorded TV broadcasts! It seems to be one of the best things in life where a law haven't yet been written to forbid it.

So this is the way to preserve and play back a TV broadcast in the ultimate quality today (original MPG stream onto DVD, playback using high end DVD player). I am very happy with your tool which makes "putting the streams onto disc without quality loss" an acceptably quick task.

What I would request in some future version is some choice to burn some menu system on the DVD where the name of the .ts file maybe be used as Menu entries (or that the user can edit the entries). Apparently currently there exists no menu but the user can simply navigate between chapters without seeing any menu.

In fact AC3 tracks seems to end up on the disc as well. I see the S97 indicates "Dolby Digital 3/2.1 ch" on one of the AC3 tracks and this article I found on the web tells me that means 5+1 :

thank you very much for your positive feedback. That always gives some extra motivation.

I'm currently working on simple menus für DVR-Studio Pro. So your request will be implemented quite soon. But it will be really simple menus: you can chose from a number of predefined menu templates (1 movie, 2 movies 3x2 movies etc.). You can change the DVD-title and the names of the movies. That's it. No chapter menus, no audio track selection or extras menus and no changing of buttons or background images.
