Lot of problems since 1.42 version of DVR Studio-Pro

Beitrag von fdu » 03.02.2007, 14:42

Hi,

Dreambox 7000, OS is Windows Vista Business.

1/
Burning process seems to be ok, playback is started but movie is freezed after a while and the playback restarts at beginning of the movie. This happen on one DVD Player and not on another one. Do you think it's a player problem, a transport stream problem (looks good while playing back on DB), or a mpeg2 encoded stream problem?

2/
While starting burning the dvd (2 cut areas), dvr-studio pro freezes, the progress bar is stopped. Pressing the cancel button disables the whole wizard dialog but nothing happen, I have to kill the process.
Looking at the movie in dvr-studio pro, all seems ok.

3/
I also noticed some desynch. between movie/audio but not during the whole movie playback. So movie/audio are in sync at beginning, after 15 min there is a desync., than all goes well again.

Is this compatibility issues with vista?

Best regards, Fabian

@Fabian:

we did some considerable changes because of Windows Vista and that should be ok now and for sure is not the problem.
I'm also pretty sure that you would have the same problems with older versions, because I assume that you changed to your new Windows Vista system about the same time you updated to version 1.4x of DVR-Studio Pro. But try to install an older version:

Regarding your questions:
1) I'm sure this is caused by the combination of DVD-media and DVD-writer. As it works on one player the DVD content itself seems ok.

2) Does this happen with every recording or is it just one or just those from one specific TV-channels?

3) I would assume that it is a glitch in the recording. Or is there a cut-area exactly at this position? Then it might help to move the cut slightly.

Thanks for the quick reply.

You are right, I downloaded the last dvr-studio version after installing vista. I'm gonna give a try to the older version and will let you know the result while recording the same .ts files.

1/ the dvd-media are the same but the dvd writer has changed too. Here also I will give a try to my oldest dvd writer and let you know about the result.

2/ This happen on time to time independently of the tv channel being recorded.

3/ I never place cut areas inside de stream, but always at start or end. I often pre-program recording, so sometimes I have to remove a few minutes at beginning or at the end.

So as said, I will try with older dvd-writer. And if this is not successfull I will try the older version 1.25.

Again, thanks for help, Fabian.

Uh - I now remember, that Version 1.25 of DVR-Studio won't run on Windows Vista, I'm sorry. So you must stay with Version 1.4x or better use the current Version 1.50.
