No sound

I am converting Humax 9200T files to DVD. Today, I tried 3 files, from UK channels ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel 5. All produced DVDs with no sound.

The demuxing produces 3 files - one m2v and two mp2 files. The larger of the mp2 files appears to contain a playable sound track. If I play the vob files directly, using VLC Player, the sound is there. If I burn a CD or try to run the VIDEO_TS.IFO file (in GOM Player), there is no sound.

I am using English beta5. I tried reverting to beta4, then back to 5, but it made no difference. While I was trialling DVR-Studio, I successfully converted some files using the non-beta version of the software. Since paying for a licence, I have been unable to produce anything usable! Given that the sound is present in the vob files I can't believe that this is a big issue, however.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: Partially resolved. The burned DVDs play with sound on my DVD player, but there is still no sound when played on my PC.

If you try to play an IFO-file, there cannot be any sound in there, IFO files are just a few kilobytes of size and contain only some information about the content of a DVD. I'm not aware, that playing IFO/VOB files from a CD is possible anyway.

What is GOM-player? I have another idea what the problem might be. And it has nothing to do with trial-version or not. Both are identical.

Kimi,

Thanks for taking the time. I think this problem is connected with my local setup as the DVDs all play correctly on the DVD player, though for some reason there is no sound when played on the PC.

GOM player is an excellent Korean media player. It's available here:
