Hi,

Tried to record 7 movies, already 5 dvds went to the trash:
- desync between sound/video
- movie freezes/shaked
- program stops demuxing or authoring, UI unresponsive, process need to be killed

All movies plays well on receiver!

I got those kind of problems in the past but it was on time to time, now it's unusable.

Hello fdu,

Please set the loglevel in the settings to Level 3 and restart the program. Then process one of these films, without burning DVD. Then have a look at the last File in the folder Logfiles. If in the last debuglog many faults link "missing GOP", "defect frame" or something else, the problem is your record.

Does that means that the 1.7 version is more sensitive to those kind of stream problems?

Why not provide a "test record stream" function or warn user when such errors occurs?

About the desync between sound/video, you were right there are several missing GOP, but why does it occur only while burning the dvd?
By creating a mpeg file, the desync does not occur, no errors in log file --> playback is ok.

Creating an MPEG-file does exactly use the same demultiplexen process than creating a DVD. There is one difference: when creating an MPEG-File only one single audio track is processed. When creating a DVD all audio-tracks are used. When one of the other audio tracks now contains an error the corresponding GOP might have to be removed.

If there are multiple audio tracks you could remove all but one on the 2nd page of the DVD wizzard and try that way.

The version 1.70 is not different in error checking than version 1.5x or later.

What do you mean by "test record stream"?
