dropping GOP
dropping GOP
Hi.
I'm having a problem with Handan streams (hav-files) in DVR-studio pro. I'm quessing the problems is related to streams that have both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio. When I try to create an MPEG file, I get this message:
patching aspect ratio to 16:9
Very large audio delay, dropping GOP
It will successfully create the separate audio and video files, but the programs crashes when it tries to combine them to mpg file. The program also crashes when I try to create a dvd from this stream. Any ideas? The program works fine with 4:3 aspect ratio or at least all streams with 4:3 aspect ratio has worked so far.
The program is great when it works and I'm seriously thinking of purchasing it, but this bug(?) has to be fixed first.

@kosjanne
I think this is more a problem with the audio content of the stream. Switching from 4:3 to 16:9 doesn't matter, the video part looks absolutely the same, just a flag in the header indicates the aspect ratio.
Can you please try to define a cut-area in the beginning of the movie or if there already is one - extend it a bit?

Thanks for replying.
Actually I just realized that the aspect ratio is propably not causing the problem (as you mentioned), but instead it's the TV channel sending the stream. DVR-studio works everytime I'm using a stream from say channel 4, but fails every time I'm using a stream from channel 2. I know only one difference between these TV channels: Channel 2 sends the subtitles somehow separate from the program, i.e. there are two different subtitle languages I can choose from, but in TV 4, the subtitle is "burnt" to the program itself. Can this have something to do with my problem? Or can there be some other difference in TV 2 and TV 4 streams that could be causing my problem?
Thanks.

@kosjanne:
separate subtitles are ignored by DVR-Studio, so that's not the problem. Can you please send me a short bit of such a recording? We have a small tool to do this:
http://www.haenlein-software.com/HS/dow ... Sample.zip
Please try, if the problem happens with the small piece, too.

@kosjanne
yes - I received the file and it crashes, too. As of now I don't have a solution to it. It looks like there is a problem with (originally) CONAX encoded broadcasts from several tv-networks. Mostly in Skandinavia (ITV is another).
I have to redesign the demultiplexer to solve the problem, but that takes some time.

I found another problem. When I create an MPEG from a hav-file, I get couple of errors: Found invalid audio frame @ PTS 0:00:00,074. This doesn't matter, the MPEG file is created successfully. But when I try to create a DVD from this hav-file, the program crashes. The first part of creating the dvd goes ok, but (i guess) when the audio file is created, the program crashes.
It works!
Hi!
I downloaded the latest Beta-version (German) of the DVR-Studio Pro and tried to work once again on my Handan C-6000 .hav files. And this time it worked just fine! Looks like Kimi has done a good job solving the problem which seemed to have something with Conax to do. Good for you!
Is this version going to be translated into English soon? It would be just a little bit easier to use...
Thank you very much.

Hi kosjanne,
this is no problem. Please send me a mail with the serial number of the program.
